“Beyond Landscapes Steeped in Time”
고제민 (b. 1960)은 고향 인천의 바다와 항구, 섬과 도시를 회화로 그리며 시대의 풍경을 기록해 왔다. 그에게 인천은 회화적 실천이 시작되는 지점이자 사유가 심화되는 근원적 공간이다. 작가는 소멸해가는 장소와 그곳에 축적된 시간의 궤적을 응시하며, 풍경의 결 속에 스며든 인간의 삶과 기억의 층위를 탐구한다.
Ko Jemin (b. 1960) has documented the evolving landscapes of her hometown, Incheon, through paintings that center on its seas, ports, islands, and urban spaces. For Ko, Incheon is both the departure point for her artistic practice and the conceptual wellspring of her reflections. By contemplating vanishing spaces and the time layered within them, she explores the profound intersections of human life and memory embedded in the landscape.
